I was only a wee nipper then, aged 6 and I don't remember it. Than again, I can't remember what happened last week most of the time !

Well remember the summer '76..
I was 25 years old and decided to hitch-hike through Europe and work on a kibbutz in the Jordan Valley where the temperature was frequently 43/45 °c in the shade and I worked in fields..
Humidity is the missing part. In low humidity it is very different.
By the Sea of Galilee, where I lived and worked, in over 200m below sea level & very humid!
Last time Pete visited he brought three loaves and five fish, but somehow the rubbish filled 12 wheelies bins.

Well, in your old age, you can still get dehydrated if nothing else, nobody will stop you! 😆I remember '76. Of course, I was a kid of single digit age and to me it meant unlimited outdoor play. We'd be out the house after breakfast, wouldn't go back until it was time for dinner. Wouldn't even have a drink in the intervening period. Oh to be young and dumb again.
