Sorry to read of your bad luck. Hope you recover quickly although not too quick  so you can be out enjoying summer riding. Although you've been to ER it is also a good idea to go along to your GP who can be very influential in cases of PI not only for your injuries and treatment but for how it is affecting you especially if they know you are a super fit cyclist. Your injury will certainly initially prevent you from enjoying your cycling which is so important to you.

Whiplash. hip, knee..............have you suffered an injury at work or in the car? YOU could be entitled to compensation. £££££££££££.

Will your insurer appoint a solicitor for you or will you have to find your own?

Remember any compensation is supposed to put you back into a position just prior to the accident. Injuries for sportsmen and women can be very serious. Certainly make the other side aware that you now have additional transport costs that you would not have incurred had the accident not happened as you would regularly commute to work by bike in all weathers. You were only driving this day to attend a meeting elsewhere.

If your employer just gives you time off to recover and still pays you then you don't lose anything so they will have to submit a claim with yours for the wages they have paid you while you were away from work recovering. That's how it worked with my employer. They also adjusted my record so that it did not count as sick leave and I wasn't forced to take annual leave. Hopefully you will be in a similar position. This is of course if the other side admit or do not dispute liability.

Tell your Wife her breasts are absolutely fine as they are, beautiful in fact, no need to change them at all... pert, luscious and captivating in every aspect.... errr, allegedly of course. ;) ;);)

Wigsy,

Tell you what, post a before picture and of your wife and bike and we will tell you which one is the best investment.

I think we'd prefer to see them both without you riding them....;)

I am sure you would... what I upload will be up to me though! ha ha

Believe you me I have told her she is fine (a 34b/c cup) but she is adamant and I have always said I wont do it on HP will only pay cash for them. I havent even started looking at full carbon yet... the allez elite is only 5.5 months old and i fear i may lose this battle! maybe i should 'fall' down the stairs at work and go for 10k.... new boobs AND full Carbon, everyones a winner... tell you what... if that works will post a pic of her riding the new bike!

If it was me, I'd get a new bike..... 34B/C is fine - she'll look daft with plastic baps... hope she doesn't do any sports, cos BIG ones cause all sorts of problems....

PS - I'm on the long road to compensation as well, and if/when I get any it will be MINE ! 4 bloody months of pain so far.... got an MRI Scan in a couple of weeks, followed my Nerve tests soon..... all NHS, so the third party insurers are quids in really....not had to pay for private scans, other than my physio - for which they have about 3 months outstanding payments...

TBH my priority is getting the shoulder fixed, or finding out what's wrong/how long it will take - believe you me, whiplash etc. will drive you crackers after a month or two.

PS - get thee to the GP, and ask about Physio - they will tell you to sort it out yourself....i.e. private - but they will have advised it - so on record. The Physio will assess it, and of course, offer the corrective treatment. The sooner you go, the quicker your injuries are treated - the risk you take is the other party not admiting liability. They won't be able to argue about treatment as this also 'mitigates' long term damages claims, and you get to full fitness quicker. Physio costs run at about £35-£40 a session - I'm about £1k out of pocket, but the third party isn't contesting liability - bike bits have been paid for, just not the body

Wigsie, expect a very long drawn out process......

Cheers Foss, I am of same opinion RE: Plastic baps, but its a self esteem issue with her and I cant argue.

I am not really expecting too much from compensation, insurance company have said am covered for legal fee's etc and the guy has admited liability to my insurers... got new BMW Coupe arriving in the morning and solicitor has taken the case! I guess we will just have to wait and see... sorry to hear about yours dragging and hope gets better eventually. I couldnt justify a new bike just yet anyway, maybe in another 3 -5 months I could get away with it.

Point 1 - you must argue vehemently or she will assume she's correct in her assumptions. If you PM some pics of her naked to me I'll give you and her an honest opinion. No fee. I know, I'm a great guy in that respect.;)

Point 2 - It'll be well over 6 months before there's a hint of payout if prev experience is anything to go by... thus you can then justify the expense of another new bike. Job's a good 'un.

Believe me I have gone on about it vehemently (had to 'dictionary.com' that word) for the past 5 years, she wont budge!

Point 1 - I cant believe you would do that for someone else! you truly are a selfless human being!

Point 2 - Sweeeeet!

Wierd. As a 34/A, I can't imagine wanting much more cleavage - it's bad enough jogging down the road if I need to, now...

If I could just have a bit sculpted off my tum though...

'Am I making assumptions here but surely if you can readily drive again your injuries are purely superficial? If you really were in pain you wouldn't be able to get in the car let alone drive it ;). Or is the car for your wiffie to drive your around . If you're injured don't struggle to do stuff wait for your injuries to heal. If you do so you prolong your recovery and your body's ability to repair itself, it might also compromise any damages you receive. If the other side have admitted liability then they can make an interim payment to cover such things as your immediate out of pocket expenses and physiotherapy costs. Ask your solicitor to ask them for a payment. If the driver admits liability doesn't necessarily mean the insurer will....... Your solicitor will soon tell you what the other side's position is.

PI injury payouts always take a long time as some injuries can take a long time to heal and the prognosis might not be known for several months/years.

It is a family car.... err well not the coupe bit, but the kids will no doubt love it. I am taking it easy (as much as possible with 2 year old and 8 year old boys) and will probably go and see the osteopath/physio saturday or monday.
