what a despicable piece of garbage. you never know, if they do a check he may not have insurance/ tax etc. so hopefully they can do him on something at least. fingers crossed.

Glad they missed Paul. I know the road well, it's a nice climb, but does attract Motorcyclists trying to throw themselves into the scenery. Indeed there's a flower shrine part way up. The Bridge it crosses is called New Years Bridge which i think is a particularly poetic name.
Your experience has reminded me that I was stopped by a gent on a boardman a couple of weeks ago at the car park at the top. He said a group of young people in a convertible VW Beetle had tried to slap him or push him off as they passed, he caught up with them at the car park where they'd stopped but they'd driven off towards Denshaw.

Well I've done the right thing and reported him for that act of lunacy,
The Police are very interested in the driver of that vehicle,
They were not at liberty to say why,but someone will be in touch in the next few days

Right. Mustn't go into too much detail, but we're running a cross-border op between my patch and the surrounding areas over the next few days. Your Corsa was bang in the middle of the area in question. I have no access to Force Systems, and would be committing various offences if I were to share anything I know about the car, but rest assured we will be looking for it from this end. If I can share anything without breaching various laws I will.

TBH - it is bad enough having clueless idiots behind the wheel, but I dread the day when I encounter someone like that who is prepared to cripple or kill me through malice rather than stupidity or inattention.
We had that incident in Todmorden when bromptonfb was almost a victim of one crazy car driver. He carried out a stupidly close overtake and then cut in so viciously that the rear of the car contacted Shaun's right knee. The driver stuck his middle finger up at us and screamed abuse as he shot off into the distance.

There were also donut tyre marks all over the road up at the carpark by the saddleworth road junction.

My son, then 14,was driven at by a driver and injured when he was on his bike, luckily only a bruise and graze. We reported it and the driver was charged with causing ABH and using his car as a weapon. It came on for trial two weeks ago and he denied it ever happened. My son, now 15, stood his ground and the Jury believed him and found the driver guilty. Up for sentencing in April and he is looking at 3-6 months inside.

That could be associated with the Police 4x4 I saw waiting by roadside with two offroad motorbikers, one sitting on the kerb looking both sheepish and annoyed. I think the other one may have been plainclothes, as know there is such a thing to catch illegal offroad motorbikers and 4x4 drivers. The bikes were both apparently road legal, but one had proper knobbles and a 'track sized' plate, the other hybrid semi slicks. This was on the way up Moorcocks, from Denshaw to Newhey, just above the Alpine restaraunt. I then saw an ANPR traffic car on the way to Denshaw as I came down through Newhey.

Chances are an idiot like this has form, and if he does not then he will now!
Many reports that are not "actioned" are still recorded as "intelligence" so if someone else reports the driver than it is escalated due to the previous complaint
However this was an exceptionally stupid act and deserves to be reported.
