Actually, if you keep cycling out of the discussion you'll get almost universal agreement.

Because everyone agrees that most drivers (apart from them) are idiots. I mean, take me for example - I'm a perfect driver. But some of the driving that I see is unbelievable. I mean just the other day ... blah blah

I am far from a perfect driver, but I can appreciated that there seems to be a higher order of numpty than me, the town where I work really you approach a round about with real trepidation the amount of people who don't stop let alone slow down and look is disgusting.

Like I said I may not be perfect, but I think since I started riding it has made me a more considerate driver, I have always been very considerate of more vulnerable road users.

Some drivers are so thick that they beggar belief, sections of the M62 here in West Yorkshire were upgraded to these new smart motorways, with a variable speed limit shown on gantry mounted electronic signs, enforced with speed cameras, a few months back BBC Radio Leeds ran a news article in which these dimwits couldn't believe that because the signs were switched off they had been sent a speeding fine, apparently they were unaware that the speed limit for a car is 70mph on a motorway, and no you idiot the signs might be off, but the cameras aren't! apparently it catches out around 1000 drivers a week.

haha I can believe that, after this evenings drive home the numpty scale was at a steady 7.0 on the scale.

Damp and slightly foggy conditions seem to bring out the real tools, people with lights full beam (yea that really helps in fog) generally too fast for the conditions etc

Soon I may have to insist on working from home.

I didn't realise it was currently acceptable to have an amount of cannabis in one's system while driving. I assume it's a tiny amount. Either that or the guy they pulled was Snoop Dogg.

I've recently started cycling and tend to do the majority of my journeys on the road as opposed to paths and trails. In the 4 weeks I've been cycling I've been amazed at what I've seen drivers do. I've also had several incredibly close passes which was an interesting experience, especially when one of them was a coach. I'm looking forward to my cycling career but I really don't understand why there's such a broad 'hatred' towards cyclists. I'm waiting for my first full road rage incident only because I know it's inevitable.

Other than the close passes I've not had any bad experiences with car drivers....yet. The sad thing is I know it's likely that I will relatively soon.

Nah, it's quite rare that you get anything worse than close passes, SMIDSYs/failure-to-yield or red-light jumping against you ("it's only a bike - the lights shouldn't have stopped me for only a bike"). I remember maybe one left-hook, a couple of right-crosses and one road range in thirty-plus years, I cycle every day and I don't think my memory's that bad. There's far more kind motorists out there, but they don't get ranted about because they don't put others in danger.
