That's an amazing offer. I am finding myself deliberately failing to not stop heading there straight away! I think .

It beggars belief that no one noticed such a schoolboy error.
Then again, I see and hear double negatives used to portray some kind of intellect.
eg....'I don't disagree'

Best one I saw was a report of a bilingual sign in Wales. English side was was whatever, but the Welsh side said (in Welsh) "I'm sorry we are out of the office and will deal with your enquiry on Monday". They had sent the auto-reply out-of-office email from the translators straight to the sign-writers

Yeah, although it's quite old, it's still very funny, I think it was posted on here the other day too. ^_^

Ok, I'm stupid. I don't get the joke. What am I missing folks?

double negative..
(it's a mild titter rather than helpless guffaw so don't expect too much)

Professor: "two negatives make a positive, but two positives don't make a negative"

bored student "yeah, right"

Try reading it as it should be; i.e. "Deliberate failure to make payment blah blah........" then stick the "not" in, and it reads as if you are required to not make payment. Or something like that.

I pointed out to someone last night that their trip to the dentist must have been really unpleasant because they "didn't hardly feel a thing".

That might seem a bit rude of me, but they use double (and even triple) negatives so liberally that it is sometimes hard to work out what they actually mean to say!

Arrgghh...one of my (many) pet hates!
I get a lot of it in test papers too
eg. In which position would you not do blah blah blah. Although not a double negative, and the answer is simple, it's the decyphering of poorly worded questions that take up the time.

At work Monday someone pointed out an error in my grammar, I simply found all those Emails and text messages he sent me over the last six months and pointed out his immature use of 'txt speak'
