I haven't got one as yet but I'm begining to think the same way
Reasonable enough, but I ride (at pace) through Central London everyday, and despite all the horror stories on here, the dodgy stuff doesn't happen to me all that much: Yes I have had my share of incidents, but I've had them driving my car (and when I still held the licence - given up by choice because my job no longer requires it - in my lorry too).
I have no doubt that when driving my decision making has been poor on occasion too - in fact I know it has, and if most of us were truthful, we've at some point all driven / ridden or even walked in a selfish or careless manner whether intentional or not.
I'm uncomfortable about cameras - there is rarely a true depth of field or proximity appreciation on view, and the way some users present it on line simply fuels the perceived militant cyclist claims of many objectors.
No apologies offered, it's the way I see it.
Great for supporting accident claims admittedly, but I feel there is an air of "looking for trouble" in the way some riders use their camera.
FFS look where you're going, think about what you are doing and expect people do do stupid things, anticipate it and choose your options early - the rate of "incidents" you encounter will drop dramatically.
Ah. just re-read this! Numbnuts this is not a dig at you, simply my take on what I have read or seen regarding conflicts with cameras and the subsequent discussions involved.
Right forummers, go for it - I've got my flak jacket on
