The scooters lane discipline was all really poor with him being all over the place.
On the exit it was fine. Yeah he moved over a bit, but it was a single lane road, he shoulder checked and checked his mirror and moved over, probably to discourage anyone trying what they just did, Jagman was probably so close in behind him couldn't be seen properly in the mirrors when on a bend. Shouldn't be tailgating.

Sure the scooter rider straight lined the approach to the roundabout, but it was clear, and in the wet much safer than braking on a bend.

Jagman was a complete numpty, tailgating (else would have been more visible), carelessly overtakes another road vehicle sideswipes them, and then slams on to try and force the scooter into the back of him to shift the blame. Luckily he had a camera, and luckily the bike didn't wash out from under him with such heavy braking in the wet. I was very surprised the scooter rider stayed upright.

Whilst I would not advocate lying to the Police........

There is a requirement to report formally if there is an injury.

I met an elderly chap sitting in the road once as he had "hurt his knee" when clipped by a motorist doing a left hook. He did not want an ambulance and was unable to move until the Police arrived.

It also meant the full details had to be taken, statements etc.

A minor injury can be useful in these cases

Incorrect, there is no requirement to report it to the Police at all. There is a duty for the driver to stop and provide details.
Section 170 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 covers duties.
