Trouble is my my ride is too far prob, about 50 round trip. So I drive most and ride the last 6/7 miles, it just seems and effort getting bike out shed loading onto car rack etc etc. Once I start doing it and riding I love it though. Next few weeks I will start again (out the office for a weeks now), as (hopefully) the weather will change so will feel more motivated.

fair play to you I used to work 40 mile round trip and never considered commuting by bike as it involved Derby city centre at the other end.

Didnt cycle today and all the way in on the bus wish I had, was about an inch of snow/slush on the roads and thought a bit risky but main roads all seemed ok. Must try harder.

good afternoon CC'ers...i have been away and i have missed you all. when i say away, i don't mean in prison or anything like that. nor do i mean away as in having been somewhere other than my usual haunts, which is to say at work and/or at home. rather, i've been away from here. no real reason as to why. anyhoo, i am also guilty of having used my car far too often and fear i am far guiltier than most. whereas i used to cycle commute every day, the purchase of my rather splendid automobile has seen my daily efforts on the bike dwindle to almost zero. i do ride when the weather isn't doing its best to drown me or whisk me away to other lands on its winds, during my days off. in fact, i'm probably more active on the bike outside of the old commute than i was before the car...however, i feel the £240 odd quid it costs me to drive to work in the turbo charged beast every month needs to be reduced and with the days brightening there's no reason why not. so, given that my hours at work suit the commute (poet, don't know it), I shall be back on one of the pedal powered beauties tomorrow...I haven't decided which one yet, though the hybrid may trump the roadie purely for the slightly better grip levels of their respective rubber. i'm looking forward to it. i may not be very cheery should i arrive at work needing to wring myself out. though i do have some rather spiffing man-tights to help prevent just such a scenario...i shall be sure to deliver a report here, it may contain moderated swear words, the commute usually does

I was wondering where all the cyclists in Cambs had gone. Now I know. Light weight part timers ;).
