All I can say is it is a good job I do not live there. Not that I drink much any more!

Why not? seems perfectly reasonable.

If you are drunk, you shouldn't be in charge of anything more than your own limbs, as even that can prove too much for some people.

The simple answer is:
If you get drunk, either walk, get a lift or use public transport. if none of those is a reasonable option then don't get drunk in the first place.

depends if they're all in a line... think domino's.

seriously though, think of some pi$$head hurtling down a steep hill on a bike while off his nut. not a nice thought... now think of him staggering down the path (heh, i love watching drunk people walking)... or in a taxi... or on a bus... much better, no?

Well going by that dudi no matter where they are (bike, bus, taxi or even walking) they are going to course some thing to happen. As you say "think of some pisshead hurtling down a steep hill on a bike" I do not think that will happen if they can not even walk staight As you say "now think of them staggering down the path". We can apply if this, if that, what about this, what about that, To anything we do like bikes and bus's being on the same road and bike's shearing a cycle lane with people..... There is danger all over the place not just from people that have had a bit to much to drink.

Totally agree!

I also think that people who break the speed limit on a cycle should also be fined, as well as red light jumpers and cyclists who use the pavements.

Bikes should have number plates on them so that culprits can be identified by CCTV, traffic light cameras and speed cameras.

And don't get me started on sit and ride lawn mowers

Kind of lost you on that one Spandex, sorry.

If you want to drink and ride, that's your choice. I just don't think it's a good thing to do, as such I dont find the thought of prosecuting people for it in the least offensive.
