Duffle Coat?

I fancy getting a new coat that will last for a decade or longer and reckon a duffle coat will fit the bill.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a brand that is good quality? I have done a bit of internet searching and they all look the same (obviously, Haha!) but some must be better than others.

Or if not a duffle coat, what other options are there>?

Reefer jacket rather than a Duffel?

Thanks, will have a look.
My wife's dad was in the navy and has a great duffle coat - it's looking slightly jaded now after 50 years of wear but still loads of life left in it
...possibly Denbigh surplus.

Or a Barbour jacket, just remember to send it away to get it re-waxed!
Checked the website and nothing just now.
I had a Barbour when I was much younger, lovely smell. Thanks for the suggestion - they might have something, I'll go look.

I had also thought about a Cromby but they seem to have gone up in price since I had one in my youth!!

I bought a Barbour duffel coat (waxed) in a sale some years ago and have never regretted it

It is a classic garment and my wife refers to it as my "Cruel Sea" coat

I'm sorry to inject a tawdry note, but a duffle coat can never be sexy.

A reefer/peacoat/naval jacket, yes. Duffle, nuh-uh.

Also a duffle can't ever really look smart so has more limited deployment opportunity.
