Dumb question about jockey wheels

I have some very basic jockey wheels on my sora derailleur. Metal bushings no real bearings. They seem to be making a noise even though I stripped them and greased the bushings. Done a couple of thousand miles so maybe there are a bit worn. When I look online for replacements, both jockey wheels look to be the same whilst mine look different to each other. One is kind of spoked and one more a solid disc with teeth.

I have found some that say they fit all shimano 9 and 10 speed (except two high end Dura Ace models). So my question is this: Do most pairs of jockey wheels look the same and are they interchangeable or is one specifically the top and the other the bottom Jockey?

Cheers

Dunno about yours, but on my 105 the top wheel has a a slight float on it and the bottom wheel has arrows on it and has to be installed so it goes in a particular direction.

I replaced mine with these -> http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s107p1103 maybe call and check but it does say Shimano 9 & 10 Speed in the description.

You can get some jockey wheels that are the same top and bottom - these will work of a fashion.

However stock Shimano and Campagnolo jockey wheels have slightly different wheels top and bottom to aid shifting - the top one has some lateral movement to help shifting.

In some cases the wheels will look the same but they will be marked upper and lower on the plastic body.
