Hi Guys

I've never actually replaced tyres on my road bike, normally change the bike before the tyres.

Anyway I want to replace the standard Giant tyres with GP4's. What are the pros/cons of the with and without wire bead?

Lighter without the bead usually.

Wire bead= cheaper, heavier, less flexible so will be harder to get on the rim
Folding= More expensive, lighter, more flexible.

No difference to puncture resistance going from one to the other in the same tyre.

Boils down to price. If it's the same price or a few quid more for the same type, folding every time. But if it's a really good deal, nothing wrong with wired. Some tyres are only available as one or the other....
