It’s the night of Saturday July 25th. And I believe is 117 miles. Anyone here doing it ?

Guy I planned on going with just cancelled on me. I know another ‘group’ who’ll easily be an hour or more quicker than me. And another good friend is now riding with his Wife; and will be hours slower than I.

The LBS is organising a bus for the rider; and a lorry for the bike for £50.
I’m considering going alone as such and hopefully tagging along with someone my pace once it sorts itself out a bit……..

Would you ?

And I believe is 117 miles.

It is 111 miles with pop up drink and food places along the way. People start at varying times in evening. Enjoy.

I’m intending to Travel light; compared to some. Some things will have to give. But:

Tools / tube / pump / CO2 etc is in a Tool bottle on the bike. Snacks will all go in my Jersey pockets. The rest will fit in an underseat bag.

Anyone think / tell me what I’ve missed - that I cannot possibly live without on the night ?

Unless your weather is guaranteed at night on the ride, some long fingered gloves, a buff and maybe a gilet as it gets chillier at night?

Both times I've done the Dynamo the café on the beach has been open but, unless you are there very early, the queues are horrendous.

Thanks 🙏

The list was ‘stuff’ I’m absolutely going to need.

I’ve not listed / thought about clothing yet - as no clue what it might be on the night.

I do know that anything above 6 degrees and I’m in shorts / Bibs normally. And don’t really suffer with cold fingers. I’m thinking if its anywhere above 10-12 degrees I’ll be travelling in and taking nothing other than Summer riding gear and a super lightweight jacket ‘incase’…..

I think we’re planning on (3) stops: At 35-40 miles. Also Sudbury Fire station which is kind of halfway. And my friend says there’s one at around 90 miles.

So……we shouldn’t be too reliant on anything actually on the Beach as such. Although I’m sure I’ll likely be famished. I’ll also hopefully be finished !

Ditch the gels, just stop at pubs and popups along the way. All part of the experience.

I can't read your image or see an easy way to feed it to my OCR, but have you got a quick link? Sunblock for the way there/back?

The pic is just a screenshot of notes I started taking on my IPhone.

Sunblock on my naked head if sunny at the meet point in the park not a bad idea:

This better ?

The Ship is usually open so you can get a celebratory pint at the end and they were doing breakfast rolls; an excellent pint of Green Jack Trawler Boys went down nicely when I finished a couple of years ago, I'd have had another but I was riding back up to Wenhaston (via Southwold to pass some time) for my Air&b.
