My other half’s Orbea Gain motor is a bit noisier these days. Sounds a bit like a rubbing brake pad (it’s not that ) and can only be heard when the motor cuts in. So, it’s just an electric motor so is this something your local electric motor specialist can look at or is it something for a dealer? Anyone else had such issues and can motors br serviced e.g. moving parts lubricated etc?

Could be the gearbox, there will be reduction gearing between the motor and the drive.

Thanks for this reply. Gearbox (metal parts?) does sound like something that would need greasing/lubrication. Not sure if that a DIY service job or one for the experts??
