Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
And another e-scooter death, this time seemingly on a main A-road in the early hours of a morning: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/live-updates-road-closed-m4-27816500
Seems to be a car-caused death? Probably wouldn't matter if on scooter, cycle or foot.

The report says nothing to indicate that, I take it you have direct knowledge of the incident to support your presumption. Would you care to enlighten us?

It was always, always a recipe for disaster. What in the worlds name did the people who advocated they must only be used on private land....really think was going to happen ?
It's a free for all out there and until they enforce the rules, more people are going to get killed, its as simple as that.
When will people realise there are whole swathes of the population that will either stick two fingers up at rules, or at best, genuinely believe there are no rules.

E-scooter was involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Corsa being driven by an 18 year old. Seems likely that the car did the killing bit, whether vertently or inadvertently.

But the driver of the Corsa may not have been responsible for the crash, and the car may not have run over the e-scooter rider either.

All that's known at this stage is that one person was on the road illegally, and is now dead.

We have ~these~ things cluttering up the pavements here in Hamtun. Bl**dy nuisance, and they're legal, too.
Even though they're legal, they are ridden '2 up', on pavements and by kids not old enough to have a driving licence.

Not sure of any injury stats, though.

I'm wondering how many are knowingly, by the companies operating them, being used by people who do not qualify to be using them.
Will there be anything like the test purchases on age restricted items carried out on them?

We had them in Peterborough and it turns out, it was the oiks that effectively got them withdrawn by virtue of vandalising and stealing them. Every cloud eh ?

@mjr didn't say either of those things. He said it was a car caused death. That seems a reasonable statement given that the car collided with the scooter according to the article. We therefore know that the scooter and car made contact, the result of which is not the death of the Corsa driver.

Nonsense. Read the article.

He also said the car ran over the e-scooter rider. Do you, like mjr, know for certain it did?

E-scooters, whether you like it or not, are only legal for road use in areas where there's a trial taking place. And those trials do not include private E-scooters. Currently there are no e-scooter trials taking place in Wales, meaning that there should have been no e-scooter on the road in the first place
