I won’t really stream it either as tbh it’s a great idea and we do really try to minimise usasge and will make extra effort in earth hour.

Pointless exercise I say.
No it isn’t. It’ll make little difference but it raises awareness. That’s the aim and it’s achieving it. It’s even getting talked about on cycling forums.

If we all switch off the lights and go to the pub and share light resources, it's got to be more energy efficient, hasn't it? And you won't have to spend all day charging up your bike lights to avoid sitting in the dark for an hour.

I’ll give it a try though. What’s the worst that can happen?

It is a bit off track but when it comes to conserving energy I've noticed that a lot of retail outlet buildings that I have been in are way too big. I was just looking at one the other day. One third of the volume of the building was shop floor/ retail whilst 2/3 was just empty space being heated by a heating system located near the roof . It seems a total waste of energy and materials in making buildings that are far too big and which must be expensive to heat and light .

Had to look up Chard. For others who don't know, it's in the vicinity of Dowlish Wake, Cricket Malherbie, Chaffcombe, Warmbrook, Otterford. Whitelackington, Drimton, Upottery, Hatch Beauchamp and a gazette-full of villages named after saints. Fantastic! Shakespearean topography.
