I love dealing on eBay. I allows me to try out items of equipment, some of which I didn't even know existed, try them out & if I don't get on with them, or like them, there is a ready market to redeem the investment and try something else. I have been able to experiment with multiple settings of gearing, frame size, forks, saddles, especially saddles, handlebars, grips, breaks, wheel sizes, tyres, a lot of tyres, even pedals and mudguards. All with an initial investment of around £100, and that same money has allowed me to develop my bike until, for me, its perfect. I do not have to compromise in any aspect. The same money just goes around and around until I am perfectly happy with what I have got. Sometimes I will lose a tenner, then on another item I will make fifteen. Its become as much part of my hobby as the act of riding itself. Sometimes a particular item wont seem to be worthy of keeping, so I sell it on, then I get a different part of my bike altered, which makes me wonder that if this new part, combined with the item I've already sold on, may work well together, so I will go and buy back the item I previously sold. A lot of you will no doubt believe me to be a bit sad by now, but if I own something, I like it to be the best I can make it. That's just my nature, and eBay allows me to do it. Long live eBay !
