eBay prevent crime?

If a work colleague was stealing from your companies stock and repeatedly sold the items on ebay, could eBay contact the victim company if serial numbers are visible? How well is ebay policed against dodgy activities?

Maybe it might work if you were to get in touch, but how would you prove that what is being offered for sale shouldn't be?

As for ebay caring, I doubt it.

I was assuming that the serial numbers would be good enough.
