I bought 3w torch from ebay as tesco don't sell them now. The supplier was in Hong Kong but that seems to be quite common so I went ahead and paid through pay pal on Nov 22 Since then I've only recieved emails telling me the delay is due to xmas post. Last night I sent an email saying refund the money or a very poor feedback will be posted. They had requested to contact them if any problems before posting negative feedback. The reply today was to give them my pp email address so they can refund me. Is that normal to give that info and not even sure what that is without checking.

Advice please.

If they accepted payment by paypal then they should be able to refund you. I have just had a similar thing with wiggle and was refunded without giving any information.

I would recommend caution, and the lesson maybe not to buy from Hong Kong, I always give them a wide berth.

Need advice also bought something off EBAY. Wanted to build up a winter bike so bid on FELT frameset , paid for it with paypal 12 dec. but so far no sign of frameset todate 28 dec , seller says it was insured & PO has lost or mislaid it ...but is reluctant to refund till he gets a refund from them.
Anybody know how long it takes for PO to confirm a loss and refund ???

I don't know....but will say "If you wish to open a Dispute through PayPal’s Online Resolution Centre you must do so within 45 days of making your payment."

The seller should refund you immediately. his claim for loss is with the PO, and it doesn't matter a bit if they have lost his package. He had a contract with you to supply goods, he has not done this.

I would open a dispute TODAY, and inform him in writing that he must refund you, how he can do this, and if he does not, you will be taking further legal action.

Then google 'small claims track'

That maybe, but they should be able to that already. There should be no need to give further information. The seller simply repays the money to paypal

+1. They shouldnt need any further info from you. But giving them your PP addy isnt really an issue...just dont divulge you password

Also, make sure they give you a refund...not a payment, otherwise you'll incur PP charges. To do a refund, they do that from the original transaction on their records. If you give them your PP account address, i dont think they can refund from there. Its got to be from their end.

Thanks TOLLERS & STEVE A.
Gonna open a dispute with PAYPAL . it was 27 NOV. when I committed to the purchase ...been long enough now me thinks.

+1 get the ball rolling.

As far as royal mail is concerned, if you have consignment number you can ring up and check the status of your item.

I had a similar instance a while back. Something I ordered hadnt arrived after a fortnight dispite being posted 1st class recorded delivery. I checked the consignment number on line and it had been accepted at a post office in Twickenham on the day the seller had advised me.
Royal Mail didnt seem worried at all when I rang up. 'Oh its only been two weeks' said the guy I spoke to. 'Give it a month and if it hasnt turned up we'll look into it!'

A month! it should have been delivered in a couple of bloody days.

Anyway rant over:biggrin: Hope it turns up soon
