I was interested in a camera that is currently on Ebay. I asked what I thought were fairly inocuous reasonable questions and got this response ..............

I debated wether or not to reply to your messages. I do not like your tone quite frankly. I do not expect you would buy the camera so I have nothing to loose by being frank with you. Do you really not have anything better to do than to look for problems where none exist?

For the record, here are my answers to your pathetic questions:

-I am selling for exactly the reason in my auction. I will not be using it. I have several other cameras. Mad and inexplicable??? Only to people like you, this is my personal choice.
-I have a receipt and do not know contract law well enough to know whether the warranty is transferable or not.
-I am not a professional and used a piece or card on my coffee table to take the photos!!!
-I love photography and cameras. I buy what I want when I want, and I also sell when I want - this is up to me. I have enough money to do so. So if I previously bought one of these cameras a couple of years ago and sold it and am doing the same now it is none of your business.

Please do not bother me again.

so you called him mad and his auction inexplicable?

The guy has only owned this camera one month. From his feedback he sold exact same camera in April 2010. I consider this might call some for explanation, like why are you selling it after only one month having sold one previously? Only reasonable?

So what EXACTLY did you ask him?

See my above post for the answer to your question.

From whom and where did he buy it? If it is only one month old it will still have lots of warranty remaining. Is this transferrable?

Sale of a one month old generally highly regarded camera is strange, some what inexplicable, mad even without good reason. One has to be so careful.

Feedback show lots of sales of cameras. Is he a camera dealer?

All fair enough questions

Do you want to buy his camera, or are you winding him up?

Perhaps he's just a gadget freak! You can only judge people by their feedback, and his is spot across various 'high value' items to be fair.

I rang a guy earlier this evening about another of the same camera who claimed the camera was nearly new, mint. Turned out he had bought it on Ebay about 6 months ago and it had sat in the bottom of his wardrobe, right. He thought the camera was about 9-12 months old as he had also bought it from an Ebay seller. He had no idea where the previous buyer purchased it from, became very cagey when I asked more technical stuff about the camera. He had 100% feedback as well. Strange that.

Your clearly not going to deal with this guy, you obviously don't like the cut of one another's jibs. Hell, he might even have blocked you from his auctions, so walk away and find another seller, que sera sera:thumbsup:
FWIW I don't think his response was necessary, by which I mean the way he responded, but if nothing else if tells you more about the seller as a person.

What do you think? Of course I have lots of spare to time to trawl millions of ads on Ebay asking stupid questions or do I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket and I am up for buying new camera. Of course you would no doubt ask equally probing questions .......... if it was your money you were spending.
