It must be tough "Up North", the Eccles cakes sold at work are "Fair Trade". I can imagine the folks having to work long hours for a pittance without any proper houses or education.



I only hope that by buying fair trade Eccles cakes, I can help some poor northern soul get luxuries in life, like shoes for the children.

"Fair trade" haha dont get me going on that profit plumping , pocket linning, stick a sticker on and charge twice the price scam, luckly us Northerners give it short thrift.

Eccles cakes and Lardy cake come pretty high up on my list of good food!

Lardy cake, the nectar of the gods. Very few places sell it now, not the real fruit rich sticky heart attack fodder I love so much. I make my own but it's never as nice as the shop bought stuff.

If you ever go to Cambridge's Drummer Street bus station the kiosk there does lovely eccles cakes, about 6 inches across, deep and plenty of fruit in them Delicious!!
