So on the left above the number, in any case 1998, not mich chrome and oversize suggest a Strada OS

My Strada OS has all the chrome.

When I picked up the Merckx I was also given this set of very light wheels as well.

Hope hubs with an Sachs 8 speed screw on 13 - 26 block and 28 hole annodized rims with no markings on that I have found I also can't see how you can get to the bearings as there are no cone nuts so I think some googling is required.

I wasn't aware they had 8 speed screw on blocks when the bike was made in late 90's and I presume that the ly 96 is the year when the block was made .

Just fitted some new Schwalbe Luganos and gave them a quick spin to start bedding them in.

It's what i call a 10 foot bike as any closer and the warts show up

need to swap the stem as one in photo is too long but we are getting there

Longest ride to date this morning for this machine 46 miles.
Rode well with the new rubber and rear brake pads.

They have a reputation for being very nice to ride, My MX Leader is a joy to tide.

This is fast becoming my first to grab bike when i go for a ride .

Mainly because it's such a nice bike to ride and also as it's far from immaculate i don't mind it getting a bit dirty and wet .
