Edge 200 not picking up satellites

Hi all ,iv not used my garmin for ages , so charged it up and it seemed to b working , but after trying it ( i actually took it outside , ( clear view of sky) and it displays as usual but when i press start it never seems to get a fix on them , it reads constantly " acquiring position ( or is it satellites , i cant rem) , anyway its obv not recording , is this something i can fix or is it back to garmin? Its about 1,1/2 yr old , is it just goosed

How long did you wait, mine usually lock on in seconds but I hadn't used it for a week this morning and it took 5mins; the old 305 was like that if you hadn't used it for ages, it'd take ages to lock on.

Both of ours took well over 10 minutes to find the satellites (edge 200 & edge 500) at the beginning of last week when we turned them on after going on holiday and travelling from half way up England to well over half way up Scotland... Tomorrow morning should be fun, they are back in Cheshire again... must remember to turn mine on before getting ready to go out rather than the usual "I want it to work now" option....

Took about 5 minutes to get a location on my edge 500 last week.

I normally turn them on before I put the bikes outside and locking the door and by the time we are ready they are too

The same here it sometimes takes minutes to lock on or it can be seconds, now like others its switched on when its fitted.
