Edge Explore - on/off options

My edge Explore - turns itself on at seemingly stupid times.....IE when I have stopped charging it - or when I start charging.

In addition it reaches 100% charge quite quickly - but this isn't accurate - I need to charge it for a couple hours at least to get a decent run time (despite it saying 100%)

Any ideas ?

I had problems with battery life according to the unit.
I did the full battery calibration and it now works fine.
