OK, draft route here - 78k/49 miles ... can be extended or shortened depending on circumstances. Anybody cycling to the start from Waverley or elsewhere in the vicinity will get their 50 miler easily, I might have to go round the block once more.

Longniddry included one way & Portobello both ways, in case we are picking @Scoosh up from there?

If you are catching the same train as @Rasmus, you won't need your Garmin, he knows the way...

If the start is at 11, there is a suitable tailwind, and no rain, I might just redefine "vicinity"...:bicycle:

May be this is a silly question and I know it's not a massive ride but... Are we going to have a support Car or some place to store belongings? I'm just thinking what with the unpredictable weather we are having and the fact I will be 60 miles from home I may have to bring a bigger than ideal bag along with me. I will of course check the forecast before setting off. but should I require to bring water proofs basic tools and ride munchies my normal bag may be rather full last thing I need is to be waiting on the train home soaked through and cold

Right - it's approaching time I came off my fence  and made a decision ...

It's certainly easier (flatter :heat:) for me to go straight along the front to Portobello/ Musselburgh and meet you all there (:hugs: and :highfive: optional) but if I were not coming, which way would you be going out ?

If anyone needs parking for a car, you are very welcome to park on the street chez Scoosh - just PM me and I'll give you details - we could then ride along to Musselburgh en peloton and meet the rest of the group at Fisherrow (a good 'comfort' stop).

On the return I might drop off and come back along the front but I'm sure car parkers will be able to find an escort back to their vehicles if I do. Of course, you'd need to :hungry: my 'portion' of CAKE :hungry: chez @Telemark ...

@Cameronmu917772 - our support car is normally called Rasmus or Telemark - one because he needs a bit more weight to slow him down, the other because she is known for carrying a pannier (sometimes even with CAKE :hungry: !)

You should be able to fit your basic tools etc in your ride bag and do you have rear pockets to carry waterproofs/ munchies etc ? If not, there may be some volunteers to carry your waterproofs munchies ... Self-sufficiency (with the assistance of the other riders, if required ) is part of our CC Ecosse rides and will always be useful to you.

Alternatively, as I said above, you could bring a car and park it chez moi, which is in Trinity, north of the city and just before the Forth !
