Then, of course, there's Jacksons depot just to the east at Misson

It's a fascinating place to look round, last time I was there, they had a Bloodhound (surface to air) missile on the launching platform
And.... 2 Centurians (or possibly Chieftains??) either side of the main gates, with barrels sticking through the hedges!!

I used to live in California and just down the road at 29 Palms Air Base I was told they had the star wars defense there watching for anything naughty aimed at the US.

That place is just down the road from me, turn left just before Bawtry. Always wanted to have alook round but would probably come home with a tank

Welcome from over the Pennines, spent many happy times at Finningley when the airshow's were on, great event and very much missed from the show scene.At least some of the past lives on there in the shape of one of the greatest aircraft to come from the Avro stable.

Yes it is a shame they stopped the airshows at Finningley but we get a private show of the Vulcan most weekends.

Welcome, I'm originally from not far from you (Thorne). I vaguely remember hearing about the air shows as a child (I was 12 when it closed in 1996), and seeing the planes when I was in the area.
