Elite turbo trainer

I am a novice cyclist and bought an elite supercrono turbo trainer.the lcd that fits on the handlebars is all at zero but does not increase as I am training.can anybody help with the reason why .

Does it feel like there's tension when you adjust it? If not then the cable may have come adrift, failing that I hav' nt a clue, the cable would be the first point to check though.
 
don't want to state the obvious or seem rude, but often the displays are sticky plastic on the top and you need to remove a plastic film from the battery to get a contact - can we assume you have done that?

(I have been out to so many house calls (as an IT Engineer) for that issue I don't usually worry about asking the obvious anymore!)
 
hum... so the zeros show you have power from the battery - only conclusion is that the signal is not getting to through.
I think I would be considering returning (assuming brand new here) the item at this point - I assume it came with an instruction manual and that you have followed it faithfully?

is there a +/- sign on there for you to increase resistance yourself or is it attached to a pc and adjust automatically to the ride profile your following???

took it back to the shop,they have said it is faulty...thank you for your replies
