For my journey to Writtle to start the LEL (tour) I could take the Elizabeth line from Heathrow to Liverpool Street, then get an Anglia train to Chelmsford, or I could continue on the Elizabeth line to its terminus at Shenfield and then get a train to Chelmsford.
I think avoiding Liverpool Street would be a good move. Particularly with a bike box or bike depending how I manage things at Heathrow. Either unpack the bike and leave the bike box with Left Luggage at the airport and just have the bike with me or take the bike box to Chelmsford and leave the box at bike shop there.
Does anyone have experience going to Shenfield then getting a train?

Morning. You have it right with the trains.

Elizabeth Line : Heathrow to Shenfield.
Greater Anglia : Shenfield to Chelmsford.

Mrs has used the route so many times but not with a bike though.

Travelling with an unpacked bike is easy unless you don’t have much to lug around or have help loading the bike box onto the train. If the bike shop / airport left luggage refuse to accept the bike box…..just get to Shenfield and I will hold it for you.

Simple and easy. Happy travels.
