Got an email from a friend today
This is the coolest thing I have ever received. All you have to do is send it to 7 people and watch your screen, it is the funniest clip. I can't tell you what it is but I was laughing so hard I almost fell off my chair!!! So, send it to those 7 people and watch.

If you forward it to 7 people a video comes on your screen.
This works. I don't know how...but it works.

I've been sent these things before but normally just delete them as it just yells 'spam' to me. Do these things actually work and is there another way of watching alleged clip without forwarding the mail?
(err.. the picture that came with the mail is of several bikini clad women doing some sort of exercise routine. This may be why I'm interested in this one and non of the others I've ever been sent)

No, delete them and tell the person that sent it to you to google the title to see if it is a hoax before sending it on.

100% of the time it will just be a modern version of a chain letter. Wastes, time and bandwidth for everyone involved..

I delete them automatically, can't even be bothered to look. I work on the principle if i want to see or read something...i'll look for it myself.
I dislike the idea that you're expected to do so for someone elses pleasure, needs, whatever.
At the end of the day, it'll probably have little value even if it does work. Just another 30 seconds of your life wasted or used unproductively.

If others get pleasure from these things, fine. But not for me...can't see the point.

Any email that tells you to send it on to X number of people should be binned.

(<rant>I'm sick of telling friends and family that these things are all hoaxes (and they should Google the title or content if they have any doubts) and that I don't want them. All you are doing is exponentially clogging up the system by sending them on: you send to 20 people, each of those 20 people sends it to 20 people and so on - within 5 generations there's a possible 3200000 copies of this email doing the rounds, and so it keeps growing.</rant>)

They are very often harvested for the email addresses in the headers.

If you must send them to your friends BCC instead of CC them. And don't be surprised if one or two tell you it's irritating.

No. A video will not magically appear on your screen if you forward an email to people.

And yes, chain letters are annoying. I usually take the pi55 out of the sender whenever I get them. Funnily, I dont get them very often anymore.
