The cyclist admitted in court that he didnt actually fall off his bike, he was pushed into a hedge, but stayed upright, that may have swayed the court.

Have to say, 7 points seems like justice and is more than a lot of offending drivers have got when they killed a person. Where is the logic in all of this?

She's 21, probably been driving more than a year, so no ban, I don't think. her insurance renewal will be interesting.

There is only "driving without due care and attention", and "dangerous driving" (plus additional offences of causing death by careless driving, and causing death by dangerous driving). She was charged with DWDCA, failing to stop, and failing to report.

If she has been driving for less than 2 years and got more than 6 points it is immediate disqualification and extended driving test if more than 12 points.

I think they probably mean the New Drivers Act 1996 where there is a revocation if you accumulate 6 points or more within the first two years of passing your test for the first time.
