Have you read a quote where she actually apologises for hitting the rider then leaving the scene?
I haven't.

But then wouldn't apologising for those things have been a tacit admission of guilt. She may (or may not) be generally remorseful inside but as the strategy was to plead not guilty, I'd bet my meagre life savings that the lack of a public 'apology' was down to legal advice.
