[QUOTE 4749250, member: 9609"]I was hoping you were being serious - it is always good to know like minded people exist.

I do get attached to bikes and vans and trucks - I know its weird but I do, especially any that I have done a lot of miles in or on.. I have done about 60k on my bike, I would feel as though I was being unfaithful riding another.

I do talk to my bike, by not being serious I mean that my original post was intended as a humorous ancedote more than anything else.

My bike is called Maude and I talk to her when I counting while I am going up hill.

Me? odd? never....

My bikes are already named Iron Cross and Spitfire. That's farking cool, why would I want to call them anything else?

As for emotional attachment, there's a certain amount involved in the building and modification that I've done, but that's more in myself and the skills I've learned doing it. Same with the rides. The memories are in me, the bikes are just stuff.

I've just bought a new frame. A Hurricane.

I've no idea what that's like but it sounds cool, which is surely the main thing.

It's a tool.

As much as it's nice to have a trusty hammer I don't cry when it breaks.
I work with someone who has names for her hammers!
