Enamel or Smoothrite paint - what's best?

As long as I breathe, I attack.
It's starting ... I'm hoping to finish prep tomorrow and get the paint on Friday onwards. Can't do Saturday (marriage course - don't ask!) and Sunday (Evans Leeds sportive) unless my knee doesn't get better.

I want to get the prep done properly before paint goes on, otherwise it'll never look right.

Gareth's kindly donated some enamel paint so I'm not using the Smoothrite. That'd go on OK but Hammerite never seems to get the same finish. Enamel should be better than both of those providing I use decent brushes, which I've bought.
Any hints on brush painting?
I am currently doing up a bike and need to pain up some areas and was looking at black smoothrite and thought about doing the whole frame while i was at it .

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Good brushes and several thin coats.

It mostly worked - there's a couple of minor runs here and there but I'm happy with the overall result.

I am thinking of doing a section of the chainstay which for some reason someone painted blue on a black frame , wtf ? i thought.
