Boycott's going on about getting 550 runs.

Be interesting to see what the selectors do going forward if Jennings is a success in the last two tests. I don't know much about him. Could he play 3 and Root back to 4? Early days etc etc but it would solve the problem England has experienced in the top order

Seems to be more of a turning pitch this time so 1st innings runs essential. Having won the toss and now 230-2 this is really England's chance

Edit....FFS...230-3

Double Edit...FFS...230-4

Nevertheless, they have the opportunity to set a decent first innings total, so sorely lacking in the previous two tests. Looks like they're not going to take it...

England 400 all out and India 104-1. From TMS, it seems there's little in the pitch for our fast bowlers, and our spinners are not good enough to take advantage of helpful conditions.

I've been watching for a few hours. I think that's a fair summary. There is precious little seam movement and no reverse swing.

I said at the end of the previous test that the difference between the teams was the way the batsmen played spin. I've had chance to look again and I was wrong. Ashwin and Jadeja are just merciless in their line and length. Our spinners seem to produce a loose delivery most overs so there isn't really any dot ball pressure which I think is where the Indian spinners excel
