Ok, just catching up with today's play. With the SA score on 229-7 it sounds like they've nearly all got in and got out again. Nobody's scored a half century yet.

I know Blowers is a dear old thing but he's well past his sell by date as far as TMS is concerned.

Trouble is that without him, there are few links to the earlier times of cricket. These are often ignored now in commentary in favour of the last couple of decades.

I could listen to him all day, even if he was reading the telephone book
Chacon a son gout! I can tolerate him, and love him like an old antique, but the number of gaffs he makes are turning him into the Phil Liggett of cricket.
I particularly like Simon Mann's style of enthusiastic but knowledgeable amateur, commentary. A breath of fresh air and nicely understated humour.

Blowers seems to be used less these days, maybe he is slowly retiring.
I like Vic Marks, i would like to hear him used as a commentator instead of an occasional summariser.
