Eng v the Banglas...2nd Test

This bit:
124-3 Ballance
124-4 Moeen
127-5 Cook

And this bit:
161-7 Stokes
161-8 Rashid
161-9 Ansari

were probably turning points in the game.

Just in case you or the management are looking at "key moments" to focus on ;)

And we still have no idea what our best team looks like. Ducket did well today but doesnt really look like a test opener. Hameed hasn't played, which is a shame as he had a cracking season and I think he's a better long term bet as Cooks partner. England will be reluctant to throw in too many inexperienced players, but Ballance surely can't carry on, he's not been in form all season for Yorks, and has never been the best playler of spin. You could bring in Buttler as a batter (or share keeping duties as I think Aggers suggested on TMS given the heat) but again he's not that great against spin with men around the bat (T20 is a different matter).

It's a mad schedule that has two half cocked 2 day games in Bangladesh as a warm up and then no further games other than tests. Could have done with a 4 day game in India to get acclimatised.

Well that was a village cricket style collapse! Although my team (Acton Scott) still trump it with our collapse against Clun a few years back. 150 for 3, chasing 169, all out for 158!!

Yeah but, does he ever have a five for or take a spectacular catch?
Not sure, I havenae been watching until today

England's lack of real spin quality was their undoing on a track with such bounce and turn. The game was really lost in Bangladesh's second innings; to get 296 on that track was really an indictment of England's spin options. I'm not convinced that Bangladesh's batsmen were better at handling spin bowling, it was our bowlers failing to produce sufficient wicket taking balls

Hope springs eternal, but I do worry about the 5 test tour of India coming up. Indian spinners are at least as good as Bangladesh's, but their batters are much better and so will represent a much stiffer challenge
