England v India 1st Test

Not only was Cook out, he reviewed it (plumb, by all accounts) and has cost his team a review, which could very well be crucial. Although there's only another 20 overs before they start back at two again.

Good effort from Cook, TBF. 188 balls he faced, a mammoth test of concentration.

Let's see who can 'step up to the plate' (bloody baseball expression) tomorrow.

Well, it is less than ideal but, as a day for a heroic performance is on offer, who is going to step up to the crease?

Duckett to bat until tea, remember where you heard it first

90 overs, 8 wickets....realistically we need three from Root, Duckett, Ali, Stokes & Bairstow to bat long. I think if it happens it will be Root, Ali and Bairstow

Well, that was a comprehensive stuffing!

15 wickets falling to spin, with nine of those lbw.

A lot needs to be done in the nets before the 3rd Test, but it's a bit late in the day to be fine-honing technique at this level.

Buttler in for Duckett, but keep Bairstow as 'keeper (for the time being), and bring in Woakes for Ansari. Woakes' batting gives him the edge over Finn.

One down, three to play. Any predictions?

3-1 India. :headshake:

I didn't watch too much of the 2nd Test but caught a bit of England's batting and thought they were playing right into lbw's against the spin during the short spell I did watch. Although no wickets fell during this time I am not surprised to see so many lbw's.

Chandrasekhar is rather impressive: 80 Test innings, 23 ducks and four pairs. :bravo:

Interesting to see two great batsmen on the King Pair list too; Gilchrist and Sehwag

Well, I delivered my passport to the Indian Embassy earlier today, so should have that by the middle of December, ready to fly to India just after New Year for 10 weeks.

Unfortunately the Test series will be done and dusted by then, but I'll watch proceedings in the pyjama cricket on the box from the sanctuary of my favourite bars. :becool::cheers:

Who wants to join me?:cheers:
