On the positive side, nice to see a New Zealand team being competitive in Tests!
I know we didn't exactly do well over there last time, but they do seem to be improving and playing some better cricket than in the past. They usually had a few decent players but they seem to be building a better whole team now.

They virtually got a coach from nowhere, and he's been allowed to coach the way he sees fit, not as the King of NZ cricket or other self-interested ex captains want it.

Eh, lets not get in to the whole Strauss and Cook thing, NZ have a Director of Cricket who oversees the selection panel, same title as Strauss...

There have been some positives from England in this series (Stokes, Root, Wood, Lyth, Cook finding form), but the Australians will be a far sterner challenge.

Well I've enjoyed the cricket even if we lost that second game. The Kiwis deserved it, just as England deserved to win the first one.

Two great tests I thought. Not been as entertained by the long form in a while. I love the Kiwi approach, particularly yesterday morning when they put the foot down knowing they already had a massive total.
