I am English, living in England. I am not eligible to vote, nor are any Scots living abroad. So how can something I cannot vote on have anything to do with me?
Very often things happening in another country over which we have no control can have a very profound effect on people in the UK. For a start Scotland contributes 8.2% in taxes to the UK so if there is a Yes vote that shortfall has to made up from somewhere, primarily the English taxpayer which includes you. There is also lost revenue from oil and a host of other industries. The Labour Party has I think about forty MPs in Scotland so if they are lost the political landscape in England will change. So if you think the vote is not going to have any effect on you, you need to reconsider.

Cabers are something that everyone should give a toss about...

Earlier tonight, when asked how his bagpipe lessons were going, the Leader of the SNP was non-commital. As a reply, Salmond chanted "evening"

I can't vote on it. I have no say on it. Leave them to it. No point whining about the fallout from it if we can't vote. Just got to deal with it.

Once they're done, we're going for Yorkshire independence next. However, we're Pro Europe given our outstanding success hosting the BEST EVER TDF foreign Grand Depart.

I didn't think we were due another desperate 'Yorkshire-lack-of-self-esteem post' for another week:thumbsup:

It's weird how racist wife-beating drunk Mel Gibson could convincingly play a Scotsman.
I think this comment is a nasty stereotype.
I'm not Scottish btw, nor British, nor in a relationship with a Scottish man.

Fair play, the joke also doesn't work because Gibson was not remotely convincing, and the portrayal of the murderous mad irishman in that film was also very dodgy.

I prefer P G Wodehouse when he said it's not difficult to confuse a ray of sunshine for a Scotsman with a grievance.

Because the break up of the union will have an effect on England, so we will be affected, even if we have no say in the matter.

I don't know one friend/workmate or family member that is not eager for the "yes" vote to succeed.

Unless they find an untapped market for pebble dashed bungalows then I predict it'll all end in tears.

I know, and as the privilegists sidle up north of the border to make promises and bestow the kind of privileges they've enjoyed all their lieves (sic) to splitters, it will sow a deeper resentment amongst those who get the worst deal out of this horse trading with a snake oil salesman.

Scotland also takes a fair chunk back in welfare payments and the oil is running out.

It's all irrelevant anyway because it's going to be a No vote.
