I've been to Manchester about five or six times and it's rained every single time I've been there. I love the city and half considered moving there once I'm bored with London but I may as well bypass it and go back to Glasgow since the weather is so rubbish

You'll regret bypassing the Costa del Salford when you realise the searing Glasgow sun doesn't give you the same healthy glow as pelting rain
And you'll have to give up any love of football you may have as there may only be one team left in Scotland soon and they barely count (and I mean the stripey team)

Spent all day sat battling with horrid rain and wind during the wiggle Isle of Wight sportive. 80 miles of the worst conditions I've ever ridden in. Then today it's sunny so everyone who opted for the Sunday half of the event has fab weather. Obv the weather gods hate me.

Hi jd, i entered in advance for the sunday and i,ll be the first to admit was very very lucky with the weather, even caught the sun on the day (sorry!) , was a good, well organised event though, dont know if you,ve seen the video thats now on the ukcyclingevents website ??

Yeah I've seen it. It doesn't do justice to the horrid nature of the day's weather. Flooded roads, Driving rain and wind, soaked to the bone, cold, wet and miserable. Still was good fun and a definite day for rule 5 riders. At least the weather has taken a turn for the better (for now anyway).

Once again i've been waiting hours to go for a ride. It's now seriously peeing down, but i can't wait forever so lets do it!!!!

I went out this morning to do a 30 miler. Though not as warm as of late it was a beautiful bright morning. However at about 20 miles it clouded over began to rain, so I donned my waterproof jacket. By 20.5 miles it stopped and the sun came out again, so off came my jacket! I got to 3/4 mile from home and the heavens just opened. The rain was so heavy it was almost like fog, then it hailed. At that close to home I just carried on and got soaked. I wasn't wet long enough to get cold so no harm done.

Look! i could put up with the rain last month when at least it was fairly warm as well, but now it's wet and it's not even 60F most days! I keep thinking that it's October, and i'm sick of hearing about this latest excuse for the crap weather, known as "The jet stream"! The "Greenhouse effect" one has worn a bit thin over the last decade or so, so they've made up a new excuse i see.

I was down the pub the other night and in between talking about soap operas and their favourite takeaways two numpties mentioned this bloody jet stream about ten times. They didn't have anything constructive to say about it, but i think they just like saying the words "jet stream"!

I don't mind if it chucks it down, or if the sun comes out to play. It's the constant chopping and changing. It's bad enough doing shifts, which mean the difference can literally be as much as nearly 20 degrees between in and out commutes.

I did a ride earlier in the year, and I kid you not that I got torrential rain, hail, snow, and friggin' sunburn.

There was a yellow thing in the sky today , but the rain washed it away !! bloody marvelous, living in Wales is like living in a monsoon rain 9 mths and snow the rest of year. Thank god for wellies.

Went out yesterday for fifty mile and ignored the forecast for thunderstorms.

I then proceeded to follow the thunderclouds around Northumberland and County Durham, experiencing torrential rain, thunder & lightening and sunshine in various measures along the way.

How do you even begin to prepare for it??? Accept the wetness and purchase a gilet is the answer maybe?

This mornings run was coat on coat off coat on coat off until the weather decided to chuck it down. But at least the winds eased off i hate the wind.

I had a lovely 40 miler this morning. Warm sunshine and little or no wind. Until the last 1 mile when the heavens opened just like the other day. I didn't bother coating up as I was so close to home.
