To those whom it may apply; hope you are enjoying your heatwave .

For those less fortunate like myself on the less than hot and sunny west coast of Scotland, todays temperature map from the met office makes depressing reading. South East England 26c, west of Scotland 13c. On top of that it's raining heavily . We never ever get even half decent summers any more!!

Glorious here, high 20s, just about to get the barby out, the Cava is chilling, the steaks are in the fridge and the prawns are ready.

Really glad I don't live up north, does anyone know anybody who does?

I live on the edge of the Lake Disctrict, the weather has been dull and overcast but very hot and humid. It's just started raining now. May and June have been truly awful, I have been commuting since the start of February and I have got drenched the most in May and June. Nevermind.

it got up to 35.6c on my ride today :becool:

I have been mixing mortar and laying bricks in this heat ... as soon as you mix it up it starts drying out!

It was the fastest bit of building work I've ever done as I raced to get the whole lot down and covered with a tarp!

Ironically, once it's covered with a tarp so you have a mini-greenhouse effect over the bricks (hot and very humid) and no water can escape, it makes the bond stronger, so I'm told.

Been reading about Britain basking in a heatwave today but us in the west of Scotland would be grateful if it would stop raining for an hour. Enjoy your heatwave

It's rocking here - we've been away since Friday in the North York Moors area.

Home now as Mr B had to return to work - we've been out on bikes, picnicking, drinking...went to see Erasure at Dalby Forest last night and the weather was perfect.

Going to sit in the garden now, salad and good things from a bakery at Thornton le Dale for tea.

Glad we went out for a ride at 8 when it was a bit cooler - I've had to come in from the garden to try and cool down a bit, too hot!

Gobsmacking out there. You walk out of the air-conditioned M&S with your snacky-bits for this evening's picnic on the heath and you walk into a wall of heat. Bam. Like Greece or Turkey.

Behave yourself! And that goes for the rest of you too . Otherwise I will book myself and bike onto a train and head down your way for a week or so. That will soon put an end to your bl**dy heatwave ;). Now off you go and enjoy your BBQ; careful you don't get sunburnt now :becool:.
