What on earth was going on with the ladders. All of them looked a little bit panicked. There where a few flappy arms.
Ladders are tricky things, years ago I was up one at work and it slipped a bit a gave me quite a brown trouser moment I can tell you. I had to go and have an extended tea break to recover.

My daughter has been in Copenhagen this week, to watch Eurovision. And she's at the final. But I very much doubt that she will be celebrating a British win.....

Since the invention of the electric bass it has frequently and repeatedly been used to record bass accompaniments often played live on upright. Especially in the realms of C&W and related genres.
Do you mean played or mimed? There were two instances of performances tonight that used double basses for stage presence and the ''player'' was evidently incapable of actually playing the instrument. With something like 15 years as a pro double bass player, it facking annoys me. Though not as much as producers and sound engineers who know everything about everything but don't understand the relationship between drums and bass outside of rock and roll.
