Kwik fit is on my 'never to be used again' list along with The Carphone Warehouse 😀
Like you say it's probably a bit like Halfords, where some branches are fine and others downright terrible.
The last Halfords order was for fork oil. The store rang me to say it was out of stock but they would order it in which would take about 3 or 4 days.
No further messages so 9 days later, I cycled there to collect and was told unfortunately the stock levels were wrong so it had hit a limbo. I got a refund.

The next day I checked and with stock still showing I ordered again. No messages at all so a week later I called in and surprisingly it was there for me. Random communication seems the norm everywhere Halfords north east.

Also worth noting that there are some excellent prices for fairly new second hand Model 3s and Model Ys, and you can get a bumper sticker saying "I bought this before Elon went Nazi".

I saw some stickers saying driver behind must be a r3tard if they think this is a Nazi symbol

I had the chance to test out the economy of my Kia Niro at the weekend with a 120 mile trip up north and was very pleased to achieve 5.2mi/kW. The specified range on max charge is 285 miles, but at the end of my journey it reported I still had 188 miles left. Granted, it wasn’t very cold and it was daylight, so I was using minimal accessories however I’m fairly impressed by that. The return journey clocked in at 4.9mi/kW.

This is so much cheaper to run than my Fabia and I don’t need to wind it up for any overtakes, it’s just point and go!

Motoring goes from pounds to pennies when using electric.

Remember servicing costs will plummet too.

Those are fantastic efficiency figures. :okay:

With 'Amoc now wobbling' ICE cars need to be banned much faster in the faint hope of preventing that new chance of 'overnight civilisation catastrophe'.

What a miss !

Never heard of it. Looks amazing though.

I hadn't - it came up on my Octopus Electric Cars screen. Looks like it's deliberate competition for Tesla Y. Comments again about the Tesla's boot being bigger but that seems to be because the Y doesn't have a parcel shelf so they measure up to the roof, whereas for all other cars they measure to the parcel shelf. That said, the boot is more than adequate for my needs. As long as I can get a triton extreme 88 key keyboard in a gator case in there with the back seats down I'm golden.

It's also criticised for being a bit disconnected when driving and a bit heavy on the bumps.

I like the interior but outside it’s a bit too ugly, like a Tesla.

Very important question: how do you pronounce it?! X-peng? Shpeng? 🤷‍♂️

Interesting issue yesterday.
I was on a long journey, 450+ motorway miles.
I did 2 splash and dash charges at service stations. One on a 150kw and one on a 350kw charger.
The 150kw charger was marginally quicker.
Each time filling from roughly 30% to 70%.

Anyone in Glasgow looking for cheaper charging should check out the FirstBus garage on Cathcart Road. They have 34 ultra rapid chargers, mostly 150kw with a couple of 125s, for just 39p/kWh.

Hours are 09:00-16:30 but they’re looking to extend this. No booking needed, just turn up and plug in. There’s a retail park across the road where you can get a coffee and/or a Greggs while you wait.

Any other cities where FirstBus do this?

I presume they charge buses overnight, so clever use of unused infrastructure.
