I guess some of the lorry drivers may have but a friend has just had it done to him and just doesn't know how .
You drive a lorry at night and load up at point A .
You drive non stop to point B on your normal route without stopping , maybe at traffic lights but never leaving the cab .
At point B you open the lorry to unload and its empty .
Yes its obvious someone has got in and unloaded it but how without getting noticed ?

I think the Loaders at Point A may not have been doing what they appeared to be doing...
Interestingly my OH was a Traffic Policewoman at one point in her career. She can say 'Please follow me to the weighbridge' in twelve European languages but knows not a jot about any other phrase in those languages.

Maybe but I am told he closed the lorry up himself and when opening it there where knife slashes on empty boxes and things thrown all over the place .
Im just glad he didn't notice anything or it could have been a different story !

If two people hid in the back after loading, they could chuck out boxes to a following vehicle.
That's what I thought but at night he would have noticed someone following . Well you assume he would .
I don't think ive ever seen a bloke more confused .

Are all the boxes the same size and shape?

If they are, then it could be that it was loaded with empty boxes. People get on the lorry and throw things around, slash boxes etc to make it look like it was done on route, when the theft took place before he left. Or have I just watched too many episodes of Johnathon Creek?

Good thinking Inspector Speicher ^_^
I have no idea about the box sizes but speaking to him over the years I do know that everything is tracked and recorded . I guess if someone did get in at point A it will be on CCTV .

Speicher seems very interested in this. I think the boxes were full of chocolate biscuits and she's the guilty party...

surely a lorry driver would know if he was carrying a load or not.... empty boxes will have a different impact on the suspension and handling of the vehicle than full boxes would.

Yes, I would agree with that. But, how did he not notice that the vehicle was getting lighter, handling differently as the journey progressed?

Was the bottom layer of boxes filled with something very much heavier than usual to compensate?

Yes its very real and he has to explain what happened . Hard to do when you don't know .
I just wondered if it was a known type of robbery in the haulage industry .
I have no idea what was in the boxes and im not sure he knows either . In the 15 years ive known him its never been a topic hes discussed .
