Bit sad perhaps but we all have them: those unsung bits and pieces of the cycling world that we think are ace but are generally overlooked or taken for granted. Little gems that get lost in amongst the glitter of the cycling crown. Here are mine:

1) Velox Rim Tape - Wonderful stuff. The best. Smashing!
2) Knitted Arm warmers - So much better than the lycra option. Only Defeet offering them now (I think)
3) Square taper bottom brackets - They cost £13 and spin forever. External BBs take note!

Come on, lets get it out in the open.

Aye, not external, but I have just had to replace an ISIS one after only a couple of years. Put a Crank Bros one in that is guarenteed for 5 yrs.

My contribution, Allen keys. Couldn't imagine fettling without them.

Knitting is very popular again (so I'm told, just haven't got around to it yet) so you could get someone who loves you to knit you some arm warmers. Be sure to have them in wool as acrylic is dire!

My favourite road near me.
It's a long quiet descent, with good views and I once saw a fox there. And it ends at a caff where you can get a bacon sarney and a mug of tea, and have change from £2. Perfect.
