Everyday signs that you are "a cyclist"...

...as opposed to 'someone who rides a bike'.

This is an idea I remember, possibly from here, but possibly from Cycling Plus, either way, it was a long time ago.

I can't claim credit for these two, but they've stuck in my memory:

1) Pointing out potholes and rough road surfaces when you are driving a car.
2) Drinking sideways from beer bottles, so you "can see where you are going"

Personally, I can spot an underinflated tyre or a saddle that is too low from a mile off, and I always point it out to whoever is with me and sometimes to person on the bike, too.

Low saddles for me and noisy bikes!!! And yes ... that look at the bike ... this morning I was in the car and we passed a bike ... in that distintive Ribble blue colour ... couldn't tell you what cars I passed on the journey!

I'd always thought this was something to do with not choking rather than being able to see where I'm going.

On one of my first dates with Mrs Upv.1 she followed my gaze over her shoulder to see what I was looking at outside. Sher assumed it was the rather long legs/short skirt combo belonging to a young lady walking past the restaurant. It took some effort to convince it that I was watching someone park a very shiny Rover P6 on the other side of the street. (Given how things turned out perhaps I shouldn't have bothered )
