The new bike has been bought!!! I opted for an entry level Orbea it'll need a couple of upgrades over the next year or so but hopefully by then I'll know what I want/ need.
I've just got to wait for delivery to the shop (trust me to order the colour that isn't readily available on this country) but I'm definitely looking forward to getting back on a road bike after all these years.

I just wanted to share my excitement with 1 or 2 people who might appreciate the feeling, my wife is slightly bored of my going on and on about it.

Thanks for listening.

My pal got an entry-level Orbea and yes, the wheels were a let-down. He soon smashed his front rim though (got crowded and tried to jump onto a traffic island) so he bought some Mavic Aksiums. Next time out he's going to try my Mavis Kysiriums.

Nice bike though.

I'll keep the curb hopping for when I'm on my MTB then!!
I know I'll need to upgrade a few parts, wheels and crankset are a definite. The frame and forks seem like a reasonable foundation for my level of riding.

It's the Orbea Aqua T23. It's the bottom of the range but I didn't want to spend thousands on my first bike, I'll wait 'til next year for that.

I looked at Orbeas when I was shopping as well, beautiful bikes! Nice to share your excitement! Is your wife going to be OK with your propping it up in the living room for the first few weeks...
