I upgraded the tyres on my tricross to krylions, and wat a difference!!! I'd highly recommend it to you!
As for upgrading the wheels, if your anything like and just love riding fast on road and just want to go further and further and quicker and quicker you will want to eventually upgrade more than your wheels and get a whole new road specific bike like I am about too.
Keep your wheels id suggest the upgrade to slick road tyres on ur tricross will be a massive upgrade that you really well notice the difference straight away. I'd save your pennies for when you feel like your ready to get a proper road bike for your speedy weekend rides/races/sportives etc... dont get me wrong i love my tricross and will continue to use it for commutes and winter but I have caught the bug and the N+1 theory has hit me and a second sunday morning best bike is deffinatly in order now!
