Yep. I only added the co2 as Ive had a puncture in the middle of Hulme. I normally use a pump but this will save me a few minutes hanging about in lycra on an expensive bike.

Nowt wrong with patches.

That Ezy-fix won't work on a lightweight tyre. Lets say I can feel a tyre boot under my commute tyres because of the distortion it causes in the tyre. Bump bump each revolution. That fix system would even distort my MTB tyres.

I fixed a puncture on my wife's hybrid and "lost" the axle nut. I pilfered one off my daughter's bike as my wife uses hers to cycle to work each along the canal. That "lost" axle nut lived over 2 years in her tyre. ^_^

Never had a problem with a glued and patched tube used as a spare :excl:. Why ever not?

Glue drying out? Peeling off. So you fix the tube at home? Why not put it back in and have an un punctured tube as back up.

I know lots of people who've had issues with patches / patched tubes. In fact there was a whole thread on it at one time on here. Seems to me this kit is a guaranteed permanent fix, when tube is u/s just remove and reuse. Re the screwdriver - my cycle kit has one in.

Eh? I said others have had problems. Tbh the internet's littered with people asking how to repair tubes and info on the longevity of patch repairs. This is a simple reusable guaranteed and permanent repair that is well proven in other industries - what's not to like?

I can't see that I would ever use this system on the road, having to carry a template, knife and screwdriver - OK, the idea is you wouldn't have to carry a spare tube (mine are around £1.99), but I'm not sure I'm convinced by the 'guaranteed and permanent' claims, and it would be just as much hassle, if not more, as using glue and a patch. For me spare tubes win every time (even prepatched ^_^).

The template is flat, the driver is in my kit already.

Scenario: I get a puncture, I fix the puncture there and then no matter what the weather (can't do the same with patches). Job done and I have no need to think about it again.

Scenario: I get a puncture, I change the tube, I have dirty tube to carry as I don't litter. I get home and at some point have to fix said puncture - got dirty twice.

Scenario: I get a puncture, I find puncture, I have to sand puncture (even more hassle on the moulding line), I apply the patch (self adhesive). Job done and I don't (usually) have to worry about it again.

Now scenario one and three seem similar - except in scenario one I never have to take my gloves off. Which in winter is a massive bonus. Been there, done that and got cold fingers. Now take into account that Brompton tubes are £6 each - it's a no brainer.

OK bromptonfb - let us know how you get on with them - hope you won't need to use one for a while ..... :thumbsup:
