Hi all

I have a new project to work on, restoring this little gem I found at the local car boot on Sunday 19th February.

My plan thus far is to restore the frame to it's former glory then set it up as a single speed with modern components.

I was wanting to keep the original colour scheme if at all possible.

This guy did a cracking job with one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75395133@N00/674842116/in/set-72157604448844719

I'm looking for a little advice as well, any help will be much appreciated.

My questions so far are:

1. What do you know about F.C.Parkes (i have found out a little so far which is helping).

2. Where in Yorkshire is there a good reputable chrome and spray shop which could help me.

Sorry, can't answer your questions, but that'll be a great project to work on. We'll expect regular progress reports with photos of course.

Agree about Ellis Briggs. They are keen.

That's an interesting link as I had a 'Sun' bicycle in the 70's - my first 'proper' bicycle. It was a lightweight bike with a leather Wright's saddle and very good to ride. The looped over seat stay arrangement was a feature I remember very well. Since it was 2nd hand I've no idea how old it might have been. Unfortunately 'Classic Rendezvous' hasn't much coverage of 'Sun' and nothing at all for Parkes!
